Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon, has announced that he will be relocating from Seattle to Miami. He explained that he wants to be closer to his parents, who recently moved back to Florida. Bezos expressed his emotional attachment to Seattle, where he has lived since 1994, but stated that he wants to be near his family. A video attached to his Instagram post shows Bezos visiting the first Amazon office, which was a garage in Bellevue, Washington. Amazon's headquarters are located in Seattle, where the company has a large number of employees. Another reason for Bezos' move is his space exploration company, Blue Origin, which is shifting its operations to Cape Canaveral, near Miami. Bezos also mentioned that he loves Miami and wants to be close to his fiancée, Lauren Sánchez, who works with him on philanthropic projects. The couple recently purchased neighboring mansions in the Billionaire Bunker area of Biscayne Bay. Bezos will benefit from Florida's lack of state capital gains taxes, as he periodically sells shares of Amazon.
