The Wikipedia page for Bitcoin experienced a significant increase in traffic last week, indicating a growing interest in the cryptocurrency as its price reached a new yearly high. On October 24, the page received nearly 13,500 visits, the highest daily count since June 2022 when Bitcoin's price dropped below $20,000. This surge in interest can be attributed to Bitcoin's recent rally and the possibility of a spot ETF. The Wikipedia page is often visited during periods of significant price movements. Other notable instances of increased traffic include the collapse of crypto exchange FTX in November 2022 and Elon Musk's announcement that Tesla would no longer accept BTC for car payments in May 2021. The current rally in Bitcoin is partially driven by speculation surrounding the approval of a spot Bitcoin ETF in the United States. However, some analysts believe that investors are turning to Bitcoin and gold as safe-haven assets due to concerns about the US government's ability to handle its debt burden.
