OpenAI stated that the recent outages of its ChatGPT chatbot may have been caused by targeted attacks on its servers. The company mentioned on its website that it is experiencing periodic outages due to abnormal traffic patterns resembling a DDoS attack. They are actively working to address this issue and ensure its mitigation. During the outage, users were unable to access OpenAI's tools and services and were informed that the platform was at full capacity. OpenAI confirmed that no user information was compromised. These outages occurred shortly after OpenAI's developer conference, where they announced updates to their AI tools, including the option for developers to create customized versions of ChatGPT. CEO Sam Altman disclosed that the platform currently has 2 million developers and 100 million active users, with approximately 90% of Fortune 500 companies utilizing the tools internally.
