Chen Shaojie, the CEO of DouYu, a Chinese live-streaming service supported by Tencent, has disappeared and is reportedly being investigated. The state-owned media outlet, Cover News, reported that Chen has been unreachable for nearly three weeks. The investigation does not specify which authorities are involved, and DouYu has not yet commented on the matter. DouYu, which went public on the Nasdaq in 2019, is often compared to Twitch and allows users to watch live-streams of video games and interact in real-time. Chen's disappearance occurs amidst a broader anti-corruption crackdown in China that has impacted top executives in various sectors.
