Fnality, a company specializing in blockchain-based tokenized cash solutions, has received a significant investment of $95.2 million. The funding round was led by Goldman Sachs and BNP Paribas. Fnality International was established in 2019 as a blockchain project by UBS and aims to create digital versions of major currencies for use in wholesale payments and transactions involving digital securities. The investment will be used to develop and expand Fnality's blockchain-based payment system, with a focus on a British pound-based version initially. The company anticipates launching its Sterling payment system by the end of the year, pending regulatory approval. The funding round also included investors such as the Depository Trust & Clearing Corp., Euroclear, Nomura Holdings Inc., and Wisdom Tree Inc. Fnality's vision is to enhance digital transactions and liquidity management through its Utility Settlement Coin (USC) Project.
