The United Auto Workers (UAW) union has reached a preliminary agreement with Stellantis, the manufacturer of Dodge, Ram, Chrysler, and Jeep vehicles, according to a source familiar with the negotiations. The deal still needs to be approved by union leadership before it can be announced. Similar agreements have also been reached with Ford and General Motors, but all agreements must be ratified by UAW members before taking effect. The terms of the Stellantis agreement are currently unknown. The Ford deal includes significant pay and benefits increases to address inflation. If these agreements are reached, it would end the longest autoworkers strike in 25 years. The Ford deal could serve as a template for the other automakers. The strike has caused financial losses for GM and Stellantis.
