Ledger, a hardware wallet provider, has announced that it will compensate users for the $600,000 worth of assets lost in the recent ConnectKit exploit. The company has assured users that they will be reimbursed by the end of February 2024. Ledger has reached out to the affected victims and is working to ensure a smooth payment process. Users who signed transactions on exploited decentralized applications (dApps) connected to ConnectKit are advised to revoke authorized transactions to minimize risks. The exploit compromised the user interfaces of various dApps, and Ledger has replaced the malicious file with an authentic version. Ledger plans to enhance security measures by collaborating with the dApp ecosystem to implement Clear Signing and discontinue Blind Signing by June 2024. Clear Signing will allow users to verify transaction details before approval. Ledger encourages dApp developers to prioritize security and support the new security feature.
