The BlendJet 2 Portable Blender, featured in an image provided by the US Consumer Product Safety Commission, is being recalled due to potential dangers. The brand is urging owners to immediately discontinue use of the blender, as it has the risk of catching fire or causing injury. BlendJet is recalling 4.8 million of its BlendJet2 blenders, which were previously sold by various retailers such as Amazon, Target, Costco, and Walmart. The company states that the currently available BlendJet 2 blenders are not affected by the recall. The recall notice explains that earlier versions of the BlendJet2 have a risk of overheating or the blades breaking off, and consumers should stop using the recalled blender. The Consumer Product Safety Commission warns that the recalled blenders can overheat, catch fire, and cause lacerations. BlendJet will provide a free replacement base unit and lid to owners of affected units who register, while Costco offers customers the option to return their blender for a full refund. Consumers can visit a specific website to check if their blender is included in the voluntary recall.
