Charlie Munger, the billionaire and longtime friend and business partner of Warren Buffett, has passed away at the age of 99. Berkshire Hathaway, the investment firm Munger co-headed with Buffett, announced his peaceful passing in a California hospital. Munger, born in 1924, served in the US Army during World War II before attending Harvard Law School. Buffett praised Munger's contributions to Berkshire Hathaway, while Mohamed El-Erian acknowledged their collaboration and common sense. Munger, known for his blunt advice on the stock market and economy, recently commented on global markets, including Buffett's investment in Japan. Despite controversies later in life, Munger maintained a close friendship with Buffett and played a crucial role in Berkshire Hathaway.
