During an official visit in Kehrsatz near Bern, Switzerland, Swiss President Viola Amherd and Chinese Premier Li Qiang shook hands. Premier Li Qiang announced at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland that China's economy grew by approximately 5.2% in 2023, slightly surpassing Beijing's target. He stated that China's economy has generally improved and rebounded in the past year. This announcement comes ahead of the official release of China's 2023 growth figures. Despite facing challenges such as a real estate crisis, high youth unemployment, deflation, and an aging population, Li expressed confidence in China's long-term positive trend. He is the highest-ranking Chinese official to personally attend the Davos forum since President Xi Jinping in 2017.
