Formula 1 Las Vegas ticket prices continue to plunge a day before the Grand Prix

Ticket prices for the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Las Vegas are significantly decreasing, even though the event is just one day away. According to TickPick, the prices for the main event on Saturday night have dropped by 23% and are now below $1,000, with the cheapest tickets currently priced at around $800. This is a 50% decrease from a month ago when the cheapest ticket was sold for $1,645. The prices for the practice and qualifying sessions on Thursday and Friday have also decreased, with the cheapest tickets dropping by as much as 20% in a week and 70% from last month. This is a significant decline compared to last year when tickets initially went on sale, with this Saturday's title race tickets selling for around $1,622. Several factors are contributing to the drop in ticket prices, including the fact that Max Verstappen has already won this year's championship title, dampening enthusiasm among fans. Additionally, the expected chilly weather and the overall cost of attendance are limiting the reasons for travel beyond the race. Despite the falling ticket prices, TickPick CEO Brett Goldberg expects the event to be well attended and create amazing experiences for those in attendance. However, he predicts that ticket prices will normalize next year and may not be priced as high as they were for the inaugural race in 2022. Las Vegas is the third US city to host an F1 race this year, following Miami in May and Austin in October. There are indications that American interest in the sport may have peaked, as US TV ratings for this year's F1 season have fallen 8%. Motorsports writer Jeff Gluck suggests that something compelling needs to happen to maintain interest in the sport in the US.

Harvard antisemitism official abruptly resigns from new task force
