Quaker Oats has issued a recall for over 40 granola bar and cereal products due to potential contamination with salmonella. The affected foods include various types of granola bars and cereals, including those included in Frito-Lays snack boxes. The recall covers products sold across all 50 states, Puerto Rico, Guam, and Saipan, with "best by" dates until October 2024. No illnesses related to the recalled products have been reported so far. Salmonella is a bacteria that can be found in animal products, fruits and vegetables, flour, and processed foods. It can cause symptoms such as fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain. Children under 5, adults over 65, and individuals with weakened immune systems are at higher risk of serious infection. Customers who purchased the affected products can contact Quaker Oats for further assistance.
